A Notebook of Pulled Thread Stitches by Eileen Bennett
What is Pulled Thread? Simply stated, it is working commonly known as embroidery stitches but defying all the rules of surface stitchery by pulling each stitch tightly as they are worked. The "pulling" will distort the stitch's appearance and holes will be created on the ground fabric. These holes form patterns creating texture.
Pulled Thread (Drawn Fabric) is an ancient form of white work embroidery.
